Please read these Terms before browsing our catalog, reserving titles, or making a purchase.
1. Who we are
This website is owned and operated by The Dogeared Nook, a used and rare bookshop located in Johnson City, Tennessee. Throughout these Terms, “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to The Dogeared Nook. By using this site you agree to these Terms.
2. Our catalog & availability
Because we sell secondhand and rare books, most titles are one of a kind. Our online catalog reflects our current shelf inventory as accurately as we can, but a book may sell in store before your online request is confirmed. Listing a title is an invitation to reserve or purchase, not a guarantee of availability.
3. Reserve & pickup
When you reserve a title online, we will hold it at the counter for 3 days while we confirm its condition and availability. Reservations are not final sales until the book is paid for. If a reserved book turns out to be unavailable or not as described, we will let you know and cancel that reservation at no charge.
4. Condition of used books
Used books are sold as-is. Our booksellers grade condition by hand (Fair, Good, Very Good, Like New), and some signs of previous ownership — shelf wear, an inscription, foxed pages — are part of a secondhand book’s character. If a book arrives materially different from how it was graded, contact us within 7 days and we will make it right.
5. Pricing & payment
Prices are as marked and may change without notice. Payment is processed securely, and all transactions are handled by The Dogeared Nook. We reserve the right to correct pricing errors and to limit quantities.
6. Intellectual property
Unless otherwise noted, the content, design, graphics, and text on this site are the property of The Dogeared Nook and are protected by applicable copyright laws. Book titles and author names are used for cataloging purposes only.
7. Limitation of liability
This site and its contents are provided on an “as-is” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Dogeared Nook shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of this site.
8. Governing law
These Terms, and any dispute arising from your use of this site, are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions.
